Gerroa — sunset with the 90mm macro

The FE 90mm F2.8 Macro doubles as a compression landscape lens (sunset ~7:20 pm in summer).

• Before sunset: layered headlands, surfers in silhouette, sun disc on the horizon, birds crossing the sun. f/5.6–f/8, ISO 100, 1/250–1/1000 s for birds.
• At sunset (±5 min): sun half-submerged, gold-lit waves, silhouetted surfers — expose for the sun's highlights and let the foreground fall dark.
• Macro bonus: dew on dune grass, glowing seed heads, shells reflecting sky. f/2.8 with a sunset-blurred background.

Three-image narrative: 24mm epic landscape → 90mm compressed sun + surfer → macro detail of glowing grass. On the a7R III turn on Zebra (95–100), the live histogram and bracketing ±1 EV for safety.

Lake Wendouree (sunset reflections, golden hour); Sovereign Hill (1850s gold-rush street scenes); Botanical Gardens (macro & serene landscapes); Sturt Street (historic main street, candids); Ballarat Railway Station (heritage fçade, vintage trains); Art Gallery precinct (art vs architecture); Mount Buninyong & Black Hill Lookout (panoramas, night city lights); Lake Esmond (reflections, waterfowl); Ballarat East Cemetery (atmospheric statuary).

Albury (NSW) — one-day sites

Noreuil Park / Albury Riverbank (Murray River, Hovell Tree, paddle-steamer); Botanic Gardens (wide landscapes + flower macro); Albury Art Gallery & Library Museum (modern-vs-historic architecture, street); Sumsion Gardens (landscapes, water features, portraits); MAMA (striking architecture, cultural street); Albury Railway Station (heritage architecture, passenger candids).
